Magnesium, Vitamin D3 and Vitamin K2 – role in optimal health

Understanding the synergy between magnesium and vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol) is crucial for bone health, overall well-being, and disease prevention.

Normally I do not reproduce posts by any other authors. But this post was so close to my own understanding and critical for human health that I decided to reproduce it. See some of my earlier posts related to vitamin and minerals:

Reference – The Essential Synergy Between Magnesium and Vitamin D3 for Optimal Health

Understanding the synergy between magnesium and vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol) is crucial for bone health, overall well-being, and disease prevention. Magnesium is pivotal in converting vitamin D into its active form, calcitriol (1,25-dihydroxyvitamin D [1,25(OH)2D]), vital for calcium absorption in the body. Magnesium is essential for the activity of enzymes involved in the metabolism of vitamin D, serving as a necessary cofactor for the biochemical reactions in the liver and kidneys. This conversion significantly influences bone health and helps prevent osteoporosis and osteopenia.

Miracle Clearing of Coronary Artery Blockage

An elixir made out of Apple Cider Vinegar, Garlic, ginger, lemon and honey seems to work miracle in clearing coronary arteries

On Dec 22, 2019, I had mild pain in my chest and it persisted for few hours and after getting ECG test done, I was told that there may be some issue with heart and I was admitted to hospital. Next day an angiography was carried out and I was informed that 3 arteries had blockages and one of them had 100% blockage and immediate angioplasty was carried out and a stent was put in that artery. I was told that they can take care of other two arteries after an year or so as they were not fully blocked. I came home after about one week and took medicines and other precautions as advised. From Jan 13, 2020, I started to go to office for short periods and started to feel physically better.

How Did I Start Working in the Disability Sector

My chance entry to the disability sector through a student project changed my life for better and made me a better human being as I learned to be more positive and to “Count the ability and not the disability”

Getting Initiated

In DA-IICT, we had introduced design thinking in the second semester of BTech(ICT) program. This was followed by an internship in summer(later changed to winter) in a rural area and a Zero Credit Design project in the second year. Idea was to let them explore some area of societal benefit for a full year without any pressure of grades and timeline.

Two students, Pallavi and Ramya(both from Hyderabad) approached me(most likely in 2007) to work with me on design project with an interest in helping persons with visual impairment. They visited Blind People’s Association in Ahmedabad to get an idea of various needs. Later in summer vacation, they came across news about a girl, Bhawana from Chennai, who had passed class 10th. Normally this does not make news but Bhawana was not in a position to move or talk. She did not have fine finger movement just a coarse movement of hands. In spite of these conditions, her passing of 10th was worthy of news. Pallavi and Ramya visited her in Chennai to understand how she studies and carries out other functions.

Remembering Charu Khandal

This is story of Charu Khandal, Lead Animator of Shahrukh Khan’s movie Ra-One, who met with a terrible accident. I tried to help her through assistive technology and as she was about to get back to Bollywood, we lost her!

Facebook memory showed up a post of mine from Jan 17, 2017 where I had shared a sad news about shocking demise of Charu Khandal – Ra-One movie animator. I felt compelled to narrate her story as I know it.

Covid-19 pandemic in India through my eyes

Vaccination in India is starting tomorrow (Jan 2, 2021). I am not sure, how much time it would take for showing its impact but it would be at least few weeks. As per my earlier prediction, we are close to 2.5 lakh active cases by year end. I am expecting this to drop to about 1.5 lakh cases by January end. After that it may oscillate between 1 to 1.5 lakh active cases unless vaccination starts to show its impact and numbers drop to insignificant levels. This may take time till March 2021 or so.

We started hearing about Covid-19 virus in January 2020 and its growth in China. At that time it looked too far away from us. However it did not take much time to spread globally and India started to see rising cases in March. We had planned our University foundation day celebrations on March 14th, 2020. Along with celebrations, we had also planned to hand over various awards to students. On the night of March 13th, we got indication from Govt to shutdown student activities and we had to cancel the event and ask students to not come.
